Haldis (haal -dees) is a line of heirloom quality fine jewelry designed and produced in Los Angeles. The creator of the brand is an antique jewelry collector/aficionado and loves the deep symbolism present in antique pieces from snake motifs to poesys. It is more difficult than ever to find older enamel charms in the market, so Haldis has created their own by taking inspiration from the old. All charms in the collection are symbols of love, luck, and life. Meaningful jewelry meant to be worn every day and passed down to a new generation.
The brand is named for the founder's Norwegian grandmother whom she never had the fortune of knowing. Having heard stories of her grandmother's gumption, style, and class, she felt a strong connection to a woman she never knew. The idea of naming a jewelry line after a woman from her family's past is a testament to the longevity of Haldis' designs.
At the core of the first collection from Haldis is the "greater than/less than" love token which is a sentimental jewel meant to signify growing love. The French poem by Rosemonde Gérard for her husband saying, "For, you see, each day I love you more,
